Thank You for Your Service!

Happy Memorial Day!

I really like this Taylored Expressions Home of the Brave Stamp Set.  I picked a red and blue lined patterned paper for the background and stamped the image directly on the panel.  I used my TE Cherry Pop and Blue Corn ink cubes--it makes the stamping easier along the stars and stripes.  I then picked one of the patriotic sentiments in the set--perfect for Memorial Day!

Here is the inside of my card with a strip of the patterned paper:

I hope you like my card and also that you have a sweet holiday!  Remember all of those who gave their lives for our freedom!

It's Your Birthday Birdie

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 65th month of de-stash, so we are into our 6th year of challenges. I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Shelly posted our May challenge--May 4th is National Bird Day.  Please make a card with a bird on it.

I picked a cute stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs that I have had for many years called It's Your Birthday Birdie!   I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers. I added some fun birthday patterned papers along with some baker's twine.

Here is the inside of my card with a strip of cupcake paper:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSMAY.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For June, Tracie is up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy!

Another Virtual Event Done! These are the cards from Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy that was held in March.  I signed up for the event knowing that I would not make any of the classes as I was at the Wisconsin High School Girls State Basketball Tournament for 3 days!  But--that is what makes these virtual events so perfect as they are all recorded and I can go back to watch and create when I get time.  So--this past few days I watched the Friday class along with the Saturday event.

These 4 cards were from the Friday class and we used a fun stamp, stencil and matching die to make some sweet cards. Shaker card, a fun embossed card, a fun-fold slimline along lots of ink blending!  It was a Great Class!

These 4 cards were using a new and exclusive quad-stencil.  I love the colors we ink blended and they would make some great masculine cards.  The coordinating stamp set has some fun sentiments along with some small stamps that can be added on to the inked panels.  I love the Quad Stencils!

The final 6 cards were also from Saturday's event.  We did more ink blending, used some fun stencils and also learned how to add white gel pen accents.  I love the variety of cards and the teachers are so creative--and fun, plus funny!

Thanks for stopping my my blog and checking out my cards!  The next virtual event I need to make up is the Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect that was held last weekend.  Thank Goodness for these classes being recorded too!

Big Girl Pants

Here we are!  This is the 15th month, so we are into year #2.  This was a thought that I had in the middle of the night and it is called Double Duty!

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For May, the company we are using is Stamping Bella. This is an older company and I not sure they are even in business.   I only have a few stamp sets that they made. I have this sweet image called Big Girl Pants by Mo Manning.

For my white card, I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I used Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 to cut the panel with the image and black backer.  I flagged the sentiment with my Stampin' Up Triple Banner Punch.  I added some pink enamel dots for the final touch.

For my second card, I also colored the sweet girl with my Copic Sketch Markers.  This time I used an Single Stitched Oval die from CottageCutz to cut the image.  The patterned paper for both cards is Stampin' Up's Birthday Bouquet and I used a few strips for banners at the top--triple banner punch again.    A few green enamel dots were added for the final touch.

I had a number of Double Duty elements on these cards.  I used my Copic Sketch Markers on both cards.  I also used the same Designer Series paper and my triple banner punch. I used dies to cut out the image on both along with enamel dots!

I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards.

Here is a link to Jeanette's,  Darlene and Carol's blogs. I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards.  Our friend Kelly might occasionally post a card for our challenge, but she could not commit to the entire year.  So, check her blog to see if she did play along this month!

Whipper Snapper Designs is up for our our June challenge, so be sure to check out our cards on the 22nd!

Honey Bee and Therm-o-web!

Done! I am showing you the last of cards I made  from the SCT-Scrapbook and Cards Today--Crop and Create Delivered.  I finished all of the classes this week--YAY!  This was an awesome virtual card making event that happened in March and I was not able to watch all of the classes from the three days.  These are my cards from Honey Bee Stamps and Thermo-Web.

Mari Clarke taught the Honey Bee Stamps class and we made these 3 fun shaker cards. In our box was the Celebrate Stamp and Die set along with the Layering Streamer Stencils.  So Fun! We made 3 shaker cards with the stars and balloon dies from the set and filled the middle with a great package of sequins. I added some on the front of the cards too.   The Celebrate sentiment is a fun die and backer as well as a sweet stamp too.  The streamer stencil was very cool to ink blend.  Great Class!

These 2 cards were done in a make 'n take by Sue Doherty and Therm-o-Web.  She included a new, not even released product and we got to make foiled cards without heat!  We each got a sample of a Deco-foil Adhesive Transfer and I used my Big Shot to apply the foil to my blended backgrounds.   The rainbow one of the top has texture as I used an embossing folder on the panel when it was complete.  These products are very fun and easy to do--add foil without heat!

Thanks for stopping my my blog and checking out my cards!  This weekend I am taking the Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect virtual event--but I am missing most of it live.  Thank Goodness for the classes being recorded so soon I will be posting some of those cards here too!

Lawn Fawn and Concord & 9th

Today I am showing you some cards I made  from the SCT-Scrapbook and Cards Today--Crop and Create Delivered.  I finished all of the classes this week--YAY!  This was an awesome virtual card making event that happened in March and I was not able to watch all of the classes from the three days.  These are my cards from Lawn Fawn and Concord & 9th.

These 3 cards are Concord & 9th and Cathy Zielske taught the class.  We received the Pop-up Par-Tay stamp and die set along with the Confetti Dots Turnabout Stencil--they are all so fun!  We ink blended the stencil on the card fronts and then added various sentiments along with die cuts. When you open the bottom Let's Eat Cake card, Hip Hip Hooray pops up inside!  These colorful cards were so fun to make.

These 3 glittery cards were taught by Jenn Shurkus and Lawn Fawn--Who Else!    We received the fun stamp set called Happy Birthday Deer along with the coordinating dies.  I colored with my Copic Sketch Markers with many tips from Jenn. We ink blended the words and added glitter on all three cards.  These sure are bright and cheery!

Thanks for stopping my my blog and checking out my cards!  I will post more class along with one of the Make 'n Takes tomorrow!

Pinkfresh Studio and Taylored Expressions

Today I am showing you some cards I made  from the SCT-Scrapbook and Cards Today--Crop and Create Delivered.  I finished all of the classes yesterday--YAY!  This was an awesome virtual card making event that happened in March and I was not able to watch all of the classes from the three days.  These are my cards from Pink Fresh Studio and Taylored Expressions.

These 3 cards were from Pink Fresh Studio and taught by Lauren Bassen, aka Laurafadora!   The Simplest Gestures bundle includes 4 stencils, a set of stamps and coordinating dies. We used the stamp set with the die, the stencils by themselves and the stamp set with resist emboss.   I used my Taylored Expressions Blender Brushes along with my Pinkfresh Studios ink cubes. These cards were so fun to create as we used so many different techniques!

These 4 colorful cards were taught by Taylor Van Bruggen with Taylored Expressions.  We received one of the Create-in-Quad Stencils called Hexagon along with a stamp set called Oh Yes You Did!  We used 4 fun colors in the hexagon backgrounds--all brush blended with TE inks.  Some of the sentiment were embossed with gold.

Thanks for stopping my my blog and checking out my cards!  I will post 2 more classes tomorrow!

Rainbow is My Favorite Color

Today is the 15th and that means the Dueling Darlings are back to post their fun cards!  This group was founded 10 years ago and there are a few of us that are the original members.  Kelly and Jeanette are still our team leaders and they try so hard to keep us all in line and going strong!  On team Kelly are Terry, Carol and me.  Team Jeanette consists of Lorraine, Darlene and Tracie.  And, we are all Dueling Darlings!

Our theme this month is "We are a Rainbow". Kelly sent each of us on both teams some parts for our cards.  She told us "Each of us brings a light and color to life ~~ from the quietness of the pastels to the boldness of the brights!  Each of you are in important "band" of the rainbow, because in order to have it we all need to be together as one."  We each were randomly chosen a color and mine is purple!

The directions from Kelly were to then use "our" color only to represent your band of the rainbow.  We were to decorate the white panel any way we want--but only in our color!  We would then have a monochromatic card.

Hummm--such a challenge!  I picked a Taylored Expressions Stencil called Here Comes the Sun and ink blended Pink Fresh Studio Lavender ink on the white panel for the purple rays.  I then added 5 purple bands of the rainbow to my blended panel.  I picked a fun Simon Says Stamp set called Rainbow is my Favorite Color and stamped one of the sweet sentiments with the same PFS ink.  I punched out the sentiment and layered it with another punched out purple backer.  I then needed a cloud brad to go with the sentiment!  A few purple rhinestones were the final touch.   This was fun card to make and I cannot wait to see what my other 7 "bands of colors of the rainbow friends" create!

Here is the inside of my card, with some rainbow washi tape:

I hope all of the Dueling Darlings enjoy my card this month and that my team liked their coffee themed kit. Please be sure to stop in to see what fun morning beverage creations are posted!  All of the blogs can be found on my left sidebar.  Our teammate Lorraine does not have a blogs, so please check out her card in her SCS gallery.   I am sure you will enjoy all of the colorful rainbow creations this month!   We will be back for June, with our leaders Kelly and Jeanette as the hostesses, so be sure to check back on the 15th to see all of our creations.

Thanks So Much

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card.  This is card number 36 and we are at the end of year #3. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success started with Kelly and the general theme is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a group of 6 and we will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other 5 members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

For this month's messiness, I used two colors of Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer.  I used Opal Polish in Blue Parakeet and Glitzy Polish in Green Lustre.  I first used this medium a few months ago when Darlene sent me two tubs.  Of course, since then I have added a few other tubs to my collection!  I also used some of these tubs last month when I rubbed the colors on an black embossed panel.  This month, I used them with a Gina K Designs Stencil called Rounded Swirl. I made two panels with the 2 colors of green--there is a lot of shimmer and shine in person.  I then die cut the Lawn Fawn Giant Thanks So Much from white and green cardstock.  They were both were die cut three times and layered for dimension.

I added some clear enamel dots on the card with the white words.

I added some Pink Fresh Studio Glacier Jewels on the green words card:

I really like the look of these cards and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies liked it too!

Here are the links to the other members of Hot Mess ~ Success.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry'sKelly's , Carol's and Darlene's blogs. Be sure to check back a day as I bet they were on time!   I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up to on June 12th.  I hope to be on time!

Hyacinth

This is my May card for the monthly themed swap that Terry is hosting on SCS. Each month she will post a theme and we make cards using any stamp set we believe follows that thought. This is our 71st month and the theme for May is "Flowers"

I picked a stamp that I recently received from Technique Tuesday and the Greenhouse Society.  This was from March and is called Hyacinth and it comes with coordinating dies.   I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut the hyacinth plant.  The background papers and panels are from Heidi Grace Designs Winnefred St--Decor Stripes. The sentiment is from the same set and I used circle punches for it.  I added some yellow enamel dots for the final touch.  I think this is a sweet image.

Here is the inside of my card with a strip of the patterned paper:

I hope Terry and the others swappers like my card this month too! Terry has posted all of the 2022 themes, so be sure to come back to see what we create!

So Very Proud of You

It is time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the fun image from Colorado Craft Company called Proud of You that I sent out for our May card #93! That means we are in the middle of year number 7 with this fun challenge! All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month and we hope that it continues for a long time!

I thought this would be a fun image for all of the spring and summer celebrations--especially graduations!  I colored the sweet image that was die cut with one of the coordinating dies (love this!) with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I was a bit short on time, so the background is from a colorful package of Taylored Expressions Done For You Panels that I just got a week ago.  These are so cool and I know I will use them often in the future.   The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I used one of the matching dies for it. I added some clear dots for the final touch!   I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Here is the inside of my card, with a strip of the colorful paper, along with another sentiment from the stamp set:

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  They may post today or tomorrow, so be sure to check out their blogs for their card!   Kelly is up for our June challenge.  Please be sure to join us again.
