Lamp Unto My Feet

This is my March Crafters of Faith card.  This is a great group that my friend Kelly started on SCS.  She hosted for 5 years and now Faith has taken over for year #7. We will continue as we have in the past with each month a new hostess gives us a scripture and challenges us to make a card with that theme.

Lisa is the hostess this month and gave everyone this challenge:

Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Challenge: I keep hearing Amy Grant singing it while Michael W Smith is playing the piano. For a card, base it on any meaning you can draw from this verse.

I really like this stamp set from Inky Antics called Shining Lantern.  I contains the lantern image and some wonderful coordinating sentiments.  I have used it often for cards in the past.  I think I bought this at a stamp show in Rockford, Illinois a number of years ago.  As I am scheduling this post, I am planning to go to the same show on Saturday and it is the first in person stamp show I have been to in more than 2 1/2 years!  I colored the lantern image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  The sentiment and layer was die cut with a very old set from Spellbinders Nestabilities called Labels 3.  The background was die cut with Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 and then I used is a Stampin' Up Embossing Folder called Tufted.  The final touch are 3 black enamel dots.   I really like the look of this card and the message makes me smile!

I hope you and the others from the Crafters of Faith group like my card this month!  We are to post on the 7th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too!

Daisy Bouquets

Today is the 18th and the due date for a Mystery Swap on SCS. This is my card for that swap.  It is a group of us who do a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess. This swap was created by Forest Ranger—Jeanette--back in 2010 and we are now in our 64th round!  Tracie is our hostess this month and sent everyone this sweet floral image from Inky Antics called Daisy Bouquets.  She will also send everyone the next image, which Laura Jean stamped.  We then get to do it all again, for round #65, in July!

I think this image is so sweet.
I colored it with my Copic Sketch Markers. I die cut the image with a Spellbinders Nestabilities oval as it matched pretty well.  I layered a strip of Stampin' Up Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper over an embossed background called Scripty 3D,also from Stampin' Up.  The sentiment is from the Blossoms and Blooms Stampin' Up stamp set.  I then added a few rhinestones as the final touch.

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope you and all of the mystery swappers like my card.  If you check my sidebar on the left, you might see some other swappers who have posted their cards today or in the next few days.

Another Karin Marker Card

This is the second card I recently made using my new Karin Brushmarker Pro Watercolor Markers.  I am getting more used to them and I love the vivid colors.
I picked an older Hero Arts wood mounted stamps called Delicate Rose Stems. I stamped the image on Strathmore Watercolor Paper.  This time I scribbled some color directly on the image on the watercolor paper and then used my Aqua-painter to move the color around.  Yesterday I posted a card where I used the same stamp and a different technique and it does look a bit different.  For the background, I sponged Tim Holtz Festive Berries and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks over the Watercolor Brushstrokes stencil from Picket Fence--seems to be an appropriate stencil to use with these makers!  I also added a doily from Stampin' Up, a strip of green satin ribbon and again a few green sequins add an additional pop of color.  I really like the look of this card!

Here is the inside of my card with a sentiment from Inky Antics:

I am back again to share the cards that I have made with the fun card kits I received in January.  I was so excited to be the recipient of these snowy themed card kits in a swap that I am hosting on SCS.  I received 10 kits and I am making 2 cards from each kit.  So--stay tuned as I will be making the wintry cards and posting more of them soon!

This is card kit #6, from Terry S. and this is my first card from her kit.  That means on my way to to the 2nd half and posting my 10 card kits--WHEW! Terry sent some cute penguin images along with some fun sentiments. She also included some pretty patterned paper along with many fun embellishments. I did make 2 cards and I will post the second card tomorrow-check back if you want to check it out.

Be sure to check back to see the rest of my creations from this fun card kit swap in the next few weeks!

Pup's Ladybug Friend

This is my card for the 49th round of the Unidentified Image swap on SCS.  It is a group of ladies who are a part of a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The unidentified part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted.   The image for this round was provided by Janet!  She will swap the cards and include the next image that Darlene sent in our return envie. And then we get to do it all again--for round #50--in June!

Janet sent everyone this sweet Inky Antics image called Pup's Ladybug Friend, because it reminded her of spring!  I colored the image with my Copic Markers and used the Stampin' Up Share What You Love specialty designer series paper that is full of flowers.  I added some Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon.

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations within the past couple of days as they date to post is today--or they may post in the upcoming days. You can also check out SCS and use the keyword UIS49 to see some posted there.  I hope everyone in the swap likes my card--and that you do too!

Card #2 from Emily's Kit

I am finally getting a chance to share the cards that I have made with the fun card kits I received in January.  I was so excited to be the recipient of these snowy themed card kits in a swap that I am hosting on SCS.  I received 10 kits and I hope to make 2 cards from each kit.  That was my plan in 2018 and I succeeded--and I think I can do it again!   So--stay tuned as I will be making the cards in the next few weeks and will post them as I can.

This is card kit #1, from Emily.  She sent an entire stamp set as she has decided it is easier than to be sure to follow all of the companies Angel Policies.  I was the recipient of a great set from Inky Antics called Christmas Friends. The set has some fun snowy images and great holiday sentiments.  She also included some fun patterned paper by Crate Paper, cardstock by Stampin' Up along with many, many fun embellishments. I was able to make 2 cards and I posted the first card yesterday-check back if you want to check it out. Be sure to check back to see the rest of my creations from this fun card kit swap in the next few weeks!

I colored the cute snowman with the Christmas lights image with my Copic Sketch Markers and layered it with My Favorite Things-MFT-Stitched Arch Stax.  The embellishments are gold glitter ribbon along with gold sequins.

Crafters of Faith

Here is my June Crafters of Faith card.  This is a great group that my friend Kelly started on SCS. This is our 30th month, so we are into year #3. Michelle gave everyone this challenge:

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Challenge: Keeping it simple with "feature butterflies on your project". I know how the summer months can be! And butterflies have always been a favorite of mine!

I too love butterflies and have a few stamp sets, along with punches and dies!  I inked up a newer set from Inky Antics called Butterflies and Gardens.  There are some great images and sweet sentiments in this set!

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope Michelle along the others from the Crafters of Faith group like my card this month!  We are to post between the 7th and 10th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too! Sue is up for our July challenge, so be sure to check back to see what I create!

It's Spring ~ Let's Party

This is my card for a swap at my LSS called Polka Dots. The theme for this round is Spring! I dug out an older Unity stamp for the image and added a sweet Inky Antics sentiment to complete the card. Robin Williams was right--Let's Party!  I also found some great spring gardening patterned paper for the background.

Here is the inside of my card:

I had fun making this card and I hope that everyone likes it too.  I am sure I will get back some nice Spring Cards!
