June Calendar Girls--Hello Summer!

Welcome to another round with the Calendar Girls!

Who are the Calendar Girls? We are a group of bloggers who want to have a place where friendships blossom, creativity abounds, and encouragement prevails! In keeping with that dream, this blog group has been created so we will have a place to interact and enjoy being fellow bloggers.

This month hostess is Carol.  Here are the directions from the wonderful Carol--The month of June brings many, many things...it is the beginning of summer for most areas...it is associated with weddings, graduations, picnics, swimming, VACATIONS...a whole bunch of wonderful things...so the task for us should we chose to accept, was this:

1. Make a card or a 3D item or whatever you would like and base it around something that you enjoy doing or plan on doing this summer...ex: a vacation, camping, family picnic, swimming, family reunion....you get the idea...

2. Write a short ditty about why you like or are looking forward to the theme you have on your card, when you post...

I am not sure if I will have the opportunity or not this summer—but I love to float on rafts or tubes on a lake or in a pool and if I have a beverage, even better!  We are headed to Alaska for vacation in July, so I am pretty sure I will not be able to do so there.  But there may be a weekend up north at a friend’s cabin later in the summer.  And, I will not be wearing a bikini!

Mystery Swap--Round 5--High Spirits

This card is for a Mystery Swap on SCS.  A group of us are doing a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess.  This swap was created by Forest Ranger—Jeanette.  These images were sent to us by Paola, who will swap the cards and send us the next image, provided by Karly!   I can't wait to get the swap cards back to see how everyone else used the same image.  And then we get to do it all again!!!!

This image was fun to color and Paola sent some cute embellishments for us to use too.

Dueling Darling Divas June Card---The Great Outdoors

Here is my card (and a 2ndsurprise card further down on the post) for round #11 of our very friendly duel.

The theme this month is “The Great Outdoors”. I am the hostess this month, along with Michelle, the Dazzlers’ hostess. As in all past duels, there is a twist as well as a request for a story…… First the story—we are to share an experience about the Great Outdoors: In 1986, I drove my mom and dad out west to visit some relatives. We visited Glacier and Yellowstone Parks as well as the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, the Corn Palace, etc. It was a wonderful trip and the last vacation we all had together. We did not camp, but stayed in hotels as well as with relatives. It was a fun road trip as we shopped for food and had picnics often along the way.

Barb:You are here!

But, here is the twist—Michelle and I also traded packets, so I also made a card with the items the Dazzler’s received. And, we were so close to having the same image as I too have this stamp and thought about using it—how funny that would have been!

Here is the card I made with the awesome supplies she sent:
