Hello Hollyhocks

Hello August!  This is my card for a personal challenge I had hoped to do monthly, but this only my second card for 2022.  I signed up for the Technique Tuesday Greenhouse Society subscription and have received 7 months of floral stamps and the matching die.  I dropped out as I have not used the ones I already have received--so now I do hope to continue the challenge, but maybe not monthly...........................

The set I picked for this month is called Hello Hollyhocks and it does come with coordinating dies.  right now we have hollyhocks blooming and some of the plants came from the seeds I got from my mom more than 30 years ago!   I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut the hollyhocks.  I also stamped 2 butterflies from the same set and die cut those too.  The sentiment is from the same set and I die cut that with a die from Stampin' Up's Tasteful Labels set.  The background is a fun embossing folder from Cuttlebug and Anna Griffin called Matekasse.  I added some Studio Katia clear enamel dots along with white twine for the final touch.  I think this is a sweet image.

I hope Terry and the others swappers like my card this month too! Terry has posted all of the 2022 themes, so be sure to come back to see what we create!

I have a Dream!

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 61st month of de-stash, so we are starting our 6th year of challenges.  We are for sure continuing in 2022 as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Jenn posted our January challenge--I have a dream!

I used another stamp set from Unity this month called It's Your Choice. This is the third month in a row I have used a Unity stamp!  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers. I die cut the image with my Gina Marie Designs Cross Stitched Ovals. My background is a fun embossing folder from Anna Griffin and Cuttlebug called Matelassé. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I added some green enamel dots for the final touch.

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSJAN.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For February, I am up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

2022 One Plus Twelve Returns

This is my One Plus Twelve card, first month of 2022!  This was the brainchild of Kelly and she asked Jeanette and me to join her in this challenge in 2019. We are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month and post on the 3rd of each month.  It was so much fun that the three of decided to continue for our fourth year and pick a new image to use.

For 2022, I picked newer Stampin' Up set called Nature's Harvest.  I think this set is so pretty and I picked the largest coneflower or sunflower image to use each month.  There is also a coordinating die set called Harvest so I can use that some months too.

For my first card, I stamped the image and then colored it with my Copic Sketch markers. I die cut the image and layered it on a dotted oval by Sizzix. The background was embossed with a sweet folder from Anna Griffin and Cricut-Cuttlebug called Matelassé.  The sentiment is from the same set and I used one of the dies to cut it out.  I added a few green enamel dots along with some linen thread for the final touch!

Please be sure to check out the other One plus Twelve cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog. I am sure you will enjoy checking out what stamp set each of them picked for 2022 and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card and that you might too! Be sure to check back every month on the 3rd to see our cards!
