SOTC Masculine Card

This is my card for our every other month swap for an awesome group of ladies on SCS--the SOTC--Sisters of the Traveling Cards!  Gael is our hostess for June and she posted the following:

Have you ever noticed that the majority of masculine-labeled cards are either football/baseball, hunting/fishing, golf, tools, Nascar? Not one of those themes would be appropriate for The Man in my house. Therefore, your challenge is to create a man's card that has NONE of those stereotypical things that first spring to mind. Also, you must use at least one non-earth tone somewhere on your card. (In other words, something bright)

I love this masculine Stampin' Up set Dapper Dad and have used all three of the stamps. I took out the shoe stamp and matched it up with some argyle patterned paper--and I hope Gael thinks this green is bright!

Here is the inside of my card:

Calendar Girls "Calendar" Card

It is the 28th of the month, so I am here to welcome you to another round with the Calendar Girls! We are now in our fourth year of posting and it has been a blast.  Wonderful Challenges--Great Fun--Sweet Creations--and Awesome Friendships!

Who are the Calendar Girls? We are a group of bloggers who want to have a place where friendships blossom, creativity abounds, and encouragement prevails! In keeping with that dream, this blog group has been created so we will have a place to interact and enjoy being fellow bloggers.  Deb is the hostess this month and she posted the following challenge

Since we are the CALENDAR Girls I was thinking we should make cards that reflect the months of the year or days of the week.

I found these sayings about a few of the months:

Slow as Molasses in January
January Brings a New Year
Beware the Ides of March (William Shakespeare "Julius Caesar")
March, In Like a Lion Out Like a Lamb
April Showers Bring May Flowers
June is Bustin' Out All Over (Oscar Hammerstein)
July Fireflies Bring August Skies
September Leaves Gives Chance for October Scares

And here are some yearly days of the week.:

Fat Tuesday
Black Friday
Good Friday
Palm Sunday

So the challenge is to make a card that reflects your interpretation of one of the above sayings about the months or one of the four listed days. (Maybe you know another saying about months of the year you like. You can use that saying.)

In your blog post let us know what saying or day your card reflects.

I went with Fat Tuesday and grabbed a Penny Black stamp that puts a smile on my face every time I see it!  Yes, this cow is a bit fat, but she is trying to see how much weight she has gained this summer, grazing in the pasture.

Here is the inside of my card:

Now, I am not sure I would send this card to anyone who is actually on a diet or working hard to lose weight--but I might think about it!

I hope Deb and the other Calendar Girls like my "Calendar" card!

Dueling Darlings and Gardens!

It is the 15thof the month and that means we get to show off another Dueling Darlings challenge. Tami and Darlene are the Darlings who came up with the challenge and theme for the teams this month.  Tami is a Diva and Darlene is one of the Dazzlers.

The theme is Gardening.
We had a cute moose image--Garden Riley.  Tami also sent along some sweet papers and using some of them was a great challenge.  Tami set a couple that were 1/4 circles and I really wanted to use one of them.  So--I trimmed part of one side off and put it in the corner of my card.  Tami also sent a variety of embellishments and I did try to use a few of them.

Tami also asked us to share a gardening tip--well.................  water and manure are two great tips for any gardener.  And--a greenhouse helps for spring planting in Wisconsin!

Here is the inside of my card with a Inky Antics Sentiment:

One Layer Christmas Card

I am back with another card for our weekly challenge for the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long (CSAYL) team.
http://christmasstampin.blogspot.com/

The theme for this week's challenge is Anything Goes--use one layer.  The challenge runs from June 13th to the 19th

I struggle with one layer cards as I love to use layers and more layers and even more layers.  I had an idea in my mind and I think I pulled it off.  I used one of my Stampin' Up Embossing Folders called Holiday Frame and added a cute Santa face in the middle.  It needed something to jazz it up a bit, so I took out a sheet of rhinestones and add some to give it some sparkle.  I hope you like my card!
