Twin Babies!

This is a card I made for a friend who just found out she is having twins.  AS she does not know the gender of the babies, I made it blue and pink and yellow!  I think the two “peas in a pod” image is so cute.

Calendar Girls--Trick or Treat

Welcome to another round with the Calendar Girls!

Who are the Calendar Girls? We are a group of bloggers who want to have a place where friendships blossom, creativity abounds, and encouragement prevails! In keeping with that dream, this blog group has been created so we will have a place to interact and enjoy being fellow bloggers.

This month hostess is our Miss October—Tami.  She gave us a Halloween theme with some additional requirements:

Layers: At least three layers somewhere on the card, one layer being a designer paper--Check

Colors: Somewhere on your card please use the color purple--
Check

Embellishments: Two for sure - and one needs to be a glitter product--
Check

Blog Post: Please share what your favorite candy is to receive in your trick-or-treat bag and if you participate in this holiday, please include what fun things do you like to do for Halloween--
Check

I really like to decorate for Halloween and my favorite candy is a plain Hershey bar.  I remember when I went Trick or Treating, we received regular size candy bars—not the small snack size.  Yes, I am old………………………

SOTC October Swap-The Colors of Autumn

This is a card that I made for our monthly SOTC—Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards-- Swap on SCS.

Paola is the host and the theme is Autumn. She wrote--Autumn is my favorite season of the year, with the gorgeous, changing colors of falling leaves and our mother earth preparing to get ready for the sleepy winter. As such, I would like your October's cards to reflect such beautiful, rich fall colors.

Dueling Darling Divas October Card---Fall Harvest

Here is my card for round #15 of our very friendly duel.

Tami--Blueinks on SCS--is the wonderful hostess for the Divas for October and sent some awesome items for us to play with and create a wonderful card.  Darlene is the hostess for the Dazzlers and the two of them came up the theme—Fall Harvest.

I loved all of the patterned paper Tami sent, but the sheet with the fall words worked perfect with the sentiment.  I used the thin brown ribbon and tied it in a way that reminded me of a corn shuck.  I think the image is just so darn cute.  I also used some of the paper and other treats Tami sent on the inside of my card.

We are also to include our favorite fall recipe.  See the end of my post for baked oatmeal!

I hope you enjoy looking at our creations!  Thanks for joining us!!!!!!

Baked Oatmeal

Ingredients:
* 3 cups rolled oats
* 1 cup brown sugar
* 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
* 2 teaspoons baking powder
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 cup milk
* 2 eggs
* 1/2 cup melted butter
* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 3/4 cup dried cranberries

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a large bowl, mix together oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt. Beat in milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir in dried cranberries. Spread into a 9 × 13 inch baking dish.
3. Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes.

This is a fairly low dish… I made it with long-cooking oatmeal.  It is kind of like a really good soft cookie.  I have also made it with half the amount of butter, substituted with apple sauce to reduce calories and fat.  I also have added nutmeg and cardamom for seasonings.  Use what spices you like.

Happy Birthday Child's Card for Stamp Club

This is the card that I made for tonight's stamp club.  Carla is the hostess and she picked the theme of children's cards.  I am not sure if this is what she meant, but the bright colors I think make a good child's birthday card.

M & M Treat Bags for Craft Fair

These are the M&M treat bags that I made to sell at some local craft fairs--or really my friend LaVerne is going to sell them at her booth, along with some of my cards.  I made a total of 87 bags, so I hope they sell well this season.

I have two Halloween toppers:
Trick or Treat, Scary and Sweet from Stampin' Up Grateful Greetings
Witch's hat from Stampabilities

Then, I have a fall themed topper:
Fall is When Nature Turns to Gold by Inkadinkadoo

And, finally two for Thanksgiving:
The turkey is a Hero Arts stamp
Happy Turkey Day is a DRS stamp

I used various SU inks and paper along with punches.  I use large popdots to hold the toppers in place on the top of the 1x8 bags.

Here is a picture of the full bags of treats!
There are lots of pictures on SCS of other ideas for these bags--I will make some winter or Christmas ones for the later craft fairs,
