Dueling Darling Divas February Card---LOVE!

Here is my card for our Battle and we are in round #7! 

What are the Dueling Darlings?  We are a group of friends that met on SCS, travel in each other's swaps and have taken a new twist on crafting to "duel"!

We, the Dueling Darling Divas, have one image/card kit to work with and the other half, the Dueling Darling Dazzlers, have a different image/card kit with the same theme! The object is to see what we came up with using this theme, what stamp was picked and how the divas/dazzlers created with it!

The theme this month is Love.  The hostess this month is Jamie, who sent us these great supplies and as usual, there were many to choose from.  So here are the details on the fun card I created:

Happy Valentine's Day--Whipper Snapper Tuxedo Love Bear

Happy Valentine’s Day!!  I wanted to share a card I made that is from one of my favorite stamp companies—Whipper Snapper Designs!   I love using my Copics on the Whipper Snapper images and love the rich colors on this card. I used Gold Glimmer mist on the card when I was done--you can see a bit of a shine.

Kindness Comes from the Heart Card

This is the card that I made for one of the swaps for the shoebox swap that was held yesterday in South Milwaukee. Since the swap was a few days before Valentine's Day, I decided to go with a pink theme! There is some paper piercing in the upper right corner that you might not be able to see very well.

Birthday Card for South Milwaukee Shoebox Swap

This is the card I made for the shoebox swap that I am going to today in South Milwaukee. I also get to meet in real life my SCS friend Jeanette and see Terry and LJ too—also SCS ladies that I have met in the past. I am so excited for the day—to chat and to make some awesome cards…………..  OK—back to the card--I premade 21 cards and have 21 card kits ready to be made today.

Wish Big Masculine Birthday Card

This is the card that I made for our monthly stamp club that met on Wednesday night--the theme was masculine birthday and as most stampers, I do struggle with those types. I have not made a gate fold in a long time and do like how it turned out.  I also put a strip of the DSP on the bottom edge of the inside of the card.

Friendship is a Sheltering Tree Card

This is the 2^nd card I made for Taryn’s Lovely as a Tree swap on SCS.  Any tree set could be used and I decided to use a stamp that had not been inked up in many years.  I really like the sentiment—so perfect!

This is a card I made for a swap on SCS hosted by Taryn—her Lovely as a Tree swap.  Any tree image could be used and I pulled out a new Bo Bunny set that has not been inked before.

There is not a card being posted today, but it is a very special day.  It is Super Bowl Sunday and the Green Bay Packers are playing!  We have some friends coming this afternoon for the game and the TV will be on as soon as I get home from church to watch all of the hype--I love it!

This is another card for Heather’s variety swap on SCS.  This was for the thank you category. I just love this series of stamps by Paper Inspirations and have maybe 6 or 7 of the different themes.  I actually bought one over the weekend that says “Adoption”.

Winter Swap Card for Four Season Swap



And Today, since we are in the middle of a Blizzard--the Blizzard of the Decade they say--here is a winter card!  This card is for a swap on SCS hosted by Karly—her Four Seasons Swap and I made one for each! I tried something new for the image—I stamped the tree image once, then without re-inking, I stamped it again on the right and then a third time on the left.  So, I stamped off the image twice and I do like the look!

January Challenge for the Calendar Girls--May Flowers!

Welcome to my first post with the Calendar Girls!

Who are the Calendar Girls? We are a group of bloggers who want to have a place where friendships blossom, creativity abounds, and encouragement prevails! In keeping with that dream, this blog group has been created so we will have a place to interact and enjoy being fellow bloggers. 

This is the first month of the challenge and it falls on the creator of this group—Jeanette—to offer the details of the first card.  She wanted us to focus on our new name and there were three components that needed to be met.
1—The card is to be created reflecting the month we are hosting—my month is May and that month is always great for our flower gardens to get ready for the summer blooms.  It also is the month when I plant the baskets and pots we have on our deck and front porch.
2—We are to use our favorite embellishment—that is not hard for me as ribbons and brads are usually on every card I create.
3—We are to use out newest paper-crafting tool—I just got the new Scor-Pal and love it!  I have used the first edition of this tool, but got the new one as it has more lines for scoring.  I used it to make a grid on the background of the card.
