Today is the last day of the month and I am here to welcome you to my Crafters of Faith card! I am blessed to have you stop by and celebrate New Year’s Eve with us! The Crafters of Faith blogging group is a joyous blending of Christian friends ~ joined together to fellowship, share our faith, build friendships and craft together!
Here is the January Challenge that Sharon
posed to us:
2013 is here! What a great time to clear out the old to make way for the new.
* For this challenge, I would like to see you use both old stash and new stash to create your card/project.
* To add a little fun to the challenge, I'd love to see you try a new technique -- something you've never done before. You can check out Google, YouTube, or even the SCS forums and galleries for inspiration!
* Make sure you tell me what's new and what's old and post a link or give a little description of the technique you used.

I checked out the tutorials on SCS and came up with “Embossed
Kisses”. The technique is to take stamp
with a solid image and stamp it in one color ink. Then take an embossing folder and ink up the
embossed side with another colored ink.
Press the inked up stamp into the ink on the embossing folder and lift
straight up and stamp the image on your cardstock. I inked up the whale with Pool Party and the
embossing folder with Island Indigo. I
tried it with a couple of stamps and liked the result with the whale
stamp. I realized I do not have too many
solid image stamps—that might need to be a purchase in the future if I see
something that will work for this technique.
I really did not use anything “new” on my card—other than to
try a new technique. However—I do think
this is the first time this stamp set has been inked up. I got it at a rummage sale a few years ago
and I do think it is too cute!
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you do check out
the other new creations from the wonderful ladies in the Crafters of Faith
group! The blog list on the left side--please check out all of the cards.

I have never tried that technique. It turned out so good! I just love the colors, textures and layout. So cute!
Also, I remember seeing a freebie on Create With TLC for a sentiment that was associated with a whale. You might want to check it out for your stash!
