Today is the last day of the month and I am here to welcome you to my Crafters of Faith card! The Crafters of Faith blogging group is a joyous blending of Christian friends ~ joined together to fellowship, share our faith, build friendships and craft together!
I am the hostess for August and this is the challenge I posted:
Memories of Mom and Dad! Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
Even though my parents have been gone for close to 20 years, I still have wonderful memories of both of them. Some of you may have one or both of your parents still an active part of your lives and for others, the memories are what we hold close. So--what can you create on your card that reminds you of you mom or dad or both of them? A site from a family vacation? A hobby--music, gardening, literature, art, etc.? A favorite food? Your mom cooking? Your dad spending time with cars? Or vice versa . Create a card that shines of the memories that honor your father and mother.
Enjoy this trip back in time--or maybe it is just a few steps back of a recent memory. Tell us in your blog post about your card, the memory it unlocks and a bit about your parents if you want to share. I cannot wait to see all of the wonderful memories you create and post on August 31st. Have Fun getting inky!
I grew up on a farm in Central Wisconsin, as many of you who read by blog know. We were a dairy farm and as a typical farm, we had a windmill. It was not an active one--but it did turn all of the time. We also had flowers that grew along the bottom of the frame.
That is one of my favorite memories of the farm where I was raised and it still is there as far as I know. A few years ago, a cousin from Germany came to visit, and we drove to show them the farm--there stood the windmill!

What a wonderful card, Barb! I think it captures perfectly the scene you've painted in my mind with your story. There's something steady and reassuring about a windmill, always there, turning away, no matter what. Your card is beautiful. Thanks for a great challenge this month. I've really enjoyed it.
Beautiful card, Barb! I love the Flower Soft at the bottom of the windmill...the perfect touch! Thanks for being our hostess this month! Blessings, friend!
Barb, this was such a great challenge this month not only because it honored our partents but it was so great hearing those treasured details of our lives that our parents have influenced. I love this windmill. I lived in a rural area and they will always hold a special feeling of home for me as well.
What a great idea you had to put Flower Soft on the bottom of your image! It looks great. I like your card and am glad that the mill is still standing.
