If you are looking for my Melonheadz Challenge Card, please scroll down.
It is the 15thof the month and that means we get to show off another Dueling Darlings challenge. Debbie and I came up with the challenge and theme for the teams this month. I am a Diva and Debbie is one of the Dazzlers.
The theme is Recipe Cards!
We thought it would be fun to create and post recipe cards this month so we can all get a few new recipes. We challenge the ladies to use their favorite recipe or perhaps a comfort food recipe that we can all savor during the upcoming winter months. Debbie lives in Alaska--so we know she really has long winter months!

I sent a variety of images and sentiments for the Divas to chose from to use on their 4x6 recipe card. I also sent some food themed patterned papers along with some interesting embellishments. I am sure you will see some awesome recipes on some sweet cards this month when you make the blog rounds!
I picked my favorite baked bean recipe and I will reprint it here so it is easier to read. I typically make a double recipe as I love it as leftovers too!
1 large can Baked Beans
1 small can Butter Beans--drained
1 small can Kidney Beans--drained
½ Cup Brown Sugar
½ Cup Catsup
1 Tablespoon Vinegar
½ Pound Bacon
1 Pound of Ground Beef
1 Large Onion--Chopped
1 teaspoon Dry Mustard
Brown the beef, onions and bacon together. When I make a double recipe, I brown the onions
and bacon in one pan—then the ground beef in a separate one. Drain Fat.
Add all other ingredients.
Bake for 45 minutes at 350.
Or, put everything in a slow cooker and heat for several hours.
This can be made up the night before and refrigerated.

Barb, I absolutely LOVE the theme you and Debbie came up with! It's different than anything we've done before...... and YUMMY, too! ;)
And your recipe card is just way too pretty! Love the DP (of course), and the embellishments are placed perfectly.
Recipe sounds delicious, too!
Thanks for helping us to have a great duel this month!
Barb, first let me just say I love you! For your listening ear, your continual friendship, for your understanding and your willingness to always "be willing!" and be a wonderful friend to all :) We are so very blessed!
Now your kit - ONCE AGAIN, your generosity knows no bounds! Your kit kept me busy and I wanted to use it all!
Your card here is just fabulous! I Love how you used that twill food ribbon, that one stole my heart - just couldn't figure out how to make it match. This recipe sounds yummy - I'm the only one who eats Baked Beans here and I guess I could try yours sans the bacon! :)
Thank you (and Deb!) for a fabulous theme, it was super fun!
So glad you are still a DDD sistah, all these years! ♥
What a fun recipe card! I really like the way you were able to use so many of the kit items. You sent so much, thank you!
Baked beans rock and your recipe sounds great!
Wow that recipe sounds awesome - and I love the card you made up too Barb.
Blessings
Maxine
