Mostly CAS Christmas

Today is the last day of December and I am posting a set of cards for our challenge-The Catch-up Club!  A few of my stamping friends, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry along with myself, have signed up for a number of virtual stamping events in the past 4+ years.  One of the benefits of these events are that they are available to rewatch or even watch for the first time at a later date as they are all recorded. The 4 of us "try" to watch live and chat by texting during the event.  But, life steps in and there are times when one or more of us are not participating during the live.  Then, the kits from sponsors sits in our stamping area until we are ready to watch the video and create.  During one of the events, we decided we needed to push ourselves (and each other) to get some of these events done!   So--we all decided to devote one day a month, the last day of the month for the somewhat procrastinators that we are, to post cards we missed making.  So--here we are in our 15th month of The Catch Up Club!

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This month the creations are again from Sarah and The Paper Cut in Appleton, WIS!

These cards are from her December Fun Time Thursday called Mostly CAS Christmas.  The products are from Brass & Bliss or The Paper Cut.  All of the beautiful cardstock is also from The Paper Cut.

Sarah offers many different kinds of classes through the year and kits can be ordered from their website.  I have a few other virtual classes from The Paper Cut that need to be completed. And,  I also have parts of other virtual events and classes from 2023 and earlier this year that need to be completed.  I am already way behind, so more Catch Up to Come!

I hope you enjoyed my cards!  Here are the links to the other of the Catch Up Club.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, and Darlene's blogs.  They may post today or tomorrow, but we have all promised to post cards that we have missed the making along the way!

Last Class--YAY!

I am Finished!  I completed the last pouch with classes from the Fall SCT Crop and Create Delivered event. Today I am showing the three cards from the Concord & 9th class.

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This class was called Birthday Bonanza and was taught by the very talented and funny Cathy Zielske.

We received a fun bundle for the class.  Our kit included the Birthday Bonanza Stamp Set, Matching Dies and Stencils.  We also got 4 C9 ink cubes!  I love the card Cathy demoed and she also showed us some additional cards at the end of the class.  I think my favorite part is the cover plate with the leaves and balloons--too cute!  These will for sure be used in the future!

I am so happy to be finished with all of the classes!  I just found one packet left from the fall 2023 Simon Hurley class, so that will be next on my list.   Then, I need to tackle some of the Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect events I too have pouches on my bookcase!

Non-traditional Colors

Today as it is the 28th and the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 96th month of de-stash, so we are into our 8th year of challenges.  I cannot believe my thought about using what we have is now 8+ years old!   I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

I posted our December challenge---Make a Christmas Card with non-traditional colors!

I picked a Pink & Main bundle that needed some love. First I picked 3 shades of purple for the snowflakes that were cut with the Snowflake Emboss and Cut Folder.  I ran the folder through my Big Shot three times, once with each color of cardstock. I layered two or three colors of the snowflakes on a white panel I embossed with a Ellison Sizzix Snowflake Embossing Folder. I then picked a fun sentiment from the coordinating stamp and die set called Snowflake Sayings.  I added some white enamel dots in the middle of the snowflakes and along the sentiment. I do really like the colors on this card and know I can use this any time this winter as a thank you or hello card!

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSDEC.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For January, Lisa is up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

Astro Paste Techniques

I am continuing to work through the pouches with classes from the Fall SCT Crop and Create Delivered event. Today I am showing the three cards from the Simon Hurley for Ranger Class.

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This class was called Astro Paste Techniques and was taught by the very talented Simon Hurley

We received a fun penguin stamp and die set along with a stencil for the class. Plus we got a fun rubber stamp strip called Confetti along with 2 tubs of Astro Paste--I love that stuff!!!!!!  We did a few different techniques with the stencil and the Frostbite and Clear Skies Astro Paste. We watercolored the penguins, using inks and a paintbrush, after embossing the images.   I know I will use the sweet penguins in the future along with the stencils--and the Astro Paste for sure!

I have just 1 pouch left and I know I will be done by the end of the year.  Then, I need to tackle some of the Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect events I too have pouches on my bookcase!

Show-Stopping Sentiments

I am continuing to work through the pouches with classes from the Fall SCT Crop and Create Delivered event. Today I am showing the three cards from the Taylored Expressions Class.

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This class was called Show-Stopping Sentiments and was taught by the talented Taylor VanBruggen

We received two stencils for the class.  One was a set of 4 stencils called Play on  Words and we also got 3 coordinating dies for each of the words.  The second stencil is called Busting Dots.  I know I will use both of these often in the future as the words are so fun!

I have just 2 pouches left and hope to be done by the end of this year.  Then, I need to tackle some of the Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect events I too have pouches on my bookcase!

Woodland Winter

Today I have a set of cards that I made recently from a virtual class from The Paper Cut.  These were from a Crafters Classroom in December called Woodland Winter. This was a stamping class, where we used our own stamp sets for the cards.  All of the beautiful cardstock is also from The Paper Cut.  Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of Sarah from The Paper Cut.

Sarah offers many different kinds of classes through the year and kits can be ordered from their website.  I am in a subscription program so I get two kits a month--ooe for Crafters Companion and the other for Fun Time Thursday.

Simon Hurley Better Press

Today is the 22nd so this is the Double Duty Day!  This is the 48th month, so we are at the end our 4th year! We will be continuing in 2025 and will have a new member, so be sure to check us out!

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For December, the company we decided on was Rubbernecker Stamps---this is now called Brass & Biss.  BUT--these cards are now from them as I misread my sheet.  I looked at December for 2025 and that company will be Simon Hurley.  Because these are Christmas Cards, I decided to post anyway.  We will highlight Brass & Bliss in 2025 and my friends who are in this group are very forgiving!

Simon Hurley is an amazing young man who actually lives less than a half hour from me.  He works with a few stamping companies and has come out with some sweet products.  For this month,  I picked a Simon Hurley-Spellbinders Better Press set called Santa's Sleigh.  The set includes the large image and three sentiments along with the matching dies for the image and Merry Christmas. I decided to use my Better Press on both, even though I could have also hot foiled.

I used my Better Press black ink on both of the images and the sentiments. The cardstock is The Paper Cut's 111# Hammered White.  I also ink blended both of the panels with Taylored Expressions ink.  Both panels are backed with a Basic Black layer and mounted on a Cougar Opaque 100# White card base.

For this card, I die cut a circle from Gina K Designs Masking Magic and placed it on the Hammered cardstock.  I then ink blended over the entire panel, first with Taylored Expressions Gumball and then added some Blueberry over the top.  Before taking off the mask, I splattered Dr. Ph Martin's white over the panel.  I stamped the image and sentiment on a piece of Hammered cardstock with Better Press Black ink in the Better Press.  I die cut the image and sentiment and placed them on the panel with foam tape.  I added some Trinity Stamps Freshwater Fish Bubbles Pearls around the image.

For this card, I ink blended over the entire panel,  with Taylored Expressions Salt Water Taffy, Gumball and Jelly Donut on the Hammered cardstock.  Because of the texture on the panel, it is a bit harder to ink blend. I then placed the blended panel in my Better Press and inked the image.  I stamped the sentiment on a smaller piece of Hammered and die cut with a MFT Slated Sentiment die.  I added some Pinkfresh Studio Starry Sky Ombre Glitter Drops around the image and on the sentiment panel.

I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards. Here is a link to Jeanette'sDarlene’s  and  Carol's blogs.   I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards. AND--they will probably use Brass & Bliss stamps!!!!!!!

Next month we will highlight another favorite, Concord & 9th. So be sure to check out our cards on January 22nd!  And, you will then see a card also from our newest member, Terry!

Crafting Autumn Magic

I am continuing to work through the pouches with classes from the Fall SCT Crop and Create Delivered event. Today I am showing the three cards from the Hero Arts Class.

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This class was called Crafting Autumn Magic and was taught by the talented Channin Pelletier

We were able to purchase a special bundle from Hero Arts before the class with 4 colors of their Reactive Ink--so I did.  They were very fun to use and I cannot wait to play with them more.  And, maybe get a few more colors.  We received a sweet fall stamp set with matching dies called Happy Fall Leaves as well as a stencil called Circular Grid.  I know these will get lots of use in the future!

I have just a few pouches left and hope to be done by the end of this year.  Then, I need to tackle some of the Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect events I too have pouches on my bookcase!

Snow Tweet

This is my card for a swap called the SIS--Surprise Image Swap.   This is card #18 for our group.  It is a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The surprise part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--the 18th of every other month.  This sweet image for this round was provided by Kathi!  She will swap the cards and include the new image for round #19 that Lori will have stamped in each return envie. Then--we do it all again in February!

Kathy sent us this cute snowman image from the Clear Dollar Stamp called Snow Tweet.  I knew I wanted an oval overlay cut from patterned paper, so I picked that out first to be able to match the colors. I choose Simple Stories Cozy Christmas-Dear Santa as I really like the more rustic colors.  I then colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I die cut the oval with my Cottage Cutz ovals in the center of the patterned paper panel.  The cardbase is Crumb Cake and the layer behind the oval panel is Mossy Meadow. I added foam tape between the image and oval layer as it gives it a bit of dimension.  The sentiment is from a Gina K Designs sentiment pack and I die cut it with a MFT Skinny Strip die set.  I added a few rhinestones around the snowman for a bit of bling and I also added a bit of Wink of Stella on his hat and on the ends of his scarf--more sparkle!     This was a fun card to make!

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations.  The due date is today, the 18th, or they may post in the upcoming days. You can also check out SCS and use the keyword SIS18 to see some posted there.  I hope everyone in the swap likes my card--and that you do too!

Thanks Snow Much

Today is the 15th and this is my card this month for our The Creative Crew!  We are a group of 7--Jeanette, Carol, Darlene, Lorraine, Terry, Tracie and me. Each month will be a new challenge posed by one of the members sending out a kit. This month, Terry sent out a sweet image from Taylored Expressions called Bear Hugs.  She also sent some die cut sentiments from Taylored Expressions Beary Much Love.  Terry also included some sweet patterned paper and some bling.

I colored the cute image with my Copic Sketch Markers. I then die cut an oval from one of the snowflake patterned paper panels and used foam tape all over the back for dimension. I placed the panel on a card base cut from Basic Black.  I added some thinner foam tape behind the sentiment. I added some rhinestones around the image and the sentiment.  This was a very fun card to make!   I have these same sets and cannot wait to play with it--yes, it is still unused..........

I hope all of The Creative Crew Gals enjoy my card this month.  Please be sure to stop in to see what fun crafty cards are posted this month.  All of the blogs can be found on my left sidebar.  Our teammate Lorraine does not have a blog, so please check out her card in her SCS gallery.   I am sure you will enjoy all of the fun holiday cards!

We will be back in January with another challenge that Darlene will sending out.  Be sure to check in with us on the 15th to see what fun is planned!

Round two of Alcohol Inks

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. This card is #66, so we are now into year #7. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a very fun group and will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

This is the third card from my November messiness.  I made three alcohol inked panels, two from white Yupo and one from Silver Yupo.  I shared the other two cards and all three panels in my post last month, so today, here is the card from the silver panel. I used various shades of green of Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks with a bit of silver added.

For this Christmas card, I used my Penny Black Immense Noel die, cut from silver metallic cardstock.  I layered the word three times and added it to the silver glossy panel that has the green alcohol inks. The cardbase is Mossy Meadow.  I added some rhinestones around the word Noel.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies like it too!  Here are the links to the other somewhat messy crafters:   Carol, Darlene, Jeanette and TerryI am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy this month and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up to in in 2025 as in January as we will all be back!

Dog or Cat or Both!

Today is the 9th and it is now time for another The Three Musketeers post. This round, I am the hostess and sent out these holiday images from Simon Says Stamp/Newton's Nook from the Stamptember set called Happy Paw-lidays. I sent a dog and cat image, both die cut and one of each on a card front panel.  I also included two sentiments, the holly and presents.  For December, this is card #124 and we are now in year #11!  I cannot believe this trio has been going strong for 11 strong years!  And, we will be back for 2025!

I colored the cute images with my Copic Sketch Markers. I added some Wink of Stella on the Santa hats for some shine and on thee dogs nose!   I picked out a Pinkfresh Studio Cover Plate called Diagonal Stripes with Window for the background, cut from Real Red.  I placed the frame over a piece of Ice Silver Glitter cardstock from The Paper Cut. The sparkle between the stripes and in the window in person is so fun!  I placed both of the animal images in the widow, tucking their toes under the frame. I added the presents under the dog and cat with the holly leaves in the corner.  I die cut the sentiment with a Taylored Expressions Modern Labels Die.  I  I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of cute cards!  Kelly is up for our January challenge, so please be sure to join us again.
