Carriers of Faith Blog Hop

Blessings to you on this wonderful, brand new year!

Welcome to the first Carriers of Faith blog hop!  2014 holds many possibilities –a blank slate, yours to be written. Many of us have goals, resolutions, ambitions, dreams, ideas……….. many things that give us hope for a new start, a new outlook.  There is something uniquely beautiful about a fresh new start and I’m so blessed you joined me today for a new start to the ~ Carriers of Faith ~ a group of ladies shining their beacons of faith as a light towards God.

We will post each month on the 9th of the month and showcase a picture. Not necessarily a picture of a card or crafty project—but a picture that is inspired by the scripture chosen for that month.  Kelly formed the original COF blog group—named Crafters of Faith.  We had a great time for a year or more, crafting and chatting and blogging when we could.   Kelly the revised the group for 2014, changed the name to Carriers of Faith and here we are!

If you are joining us in the blog hop, you should have arrived here from Kelly's blog.  At the end of this post is a list of all of the blogs--after me, you should check out Zella's post.

Kelly is also the hostess for this month and she chose the following to inspire us:  January Scripture:  “Be still and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10

These are the details for our first post:  For this first month, you don't have to go any further than your home!  Look around you - find that 'one place' that you fit the theme the best. I pray EVERYWHERE. I know you probably do too. In the road, in my car, at the grocery store, in church, at schools, at sporting events, at the dinner table to say grace, in bed as a lay there ... etc .... but find ONE PLACE, one spot, one photo that says "I'm here, Lord - where I can feel at one with you."
Here is my place of solitude.  It is in our lower level of the house and right now is looking out on all of the snow we have in Wisconsin.  I love this comfy chair from IKEA and enjoy sitting in front of the gas stove.  In the summer, the patio doors are open to hear the birds and wind in the trees outside the patio.  There are some plants in the area that add to the solitude.   It is a very calming and relaxing place to reflect.

Here are the members of the COF-Carriers of Faith-and the links to their blog.   Please join us and see where we are found spending time in stillness, in prayer.

Barb--that's me!
I am sure you will see some pictures that showcase where the Carriers of Faith can be found spending time in stillness and in prayer.  I hope you enjoy the hop this month.

Barb, you "spot" looks comfy and with all the views you see from that window, I'm sure you are able to reflect on all that the Creator has done. Loved your post!!!

How great is that space?! Look at all of your pretty plants. I so cannot grow anything....well, I did have an ivy once. I tried to kill it as I was getting tired of trying to remember to keep it alive and it would not die!!! Seriously, it survived a three week vacation, no water.

I love that you have such a special place to dwell. Enjoy!
