Galentine Weekend Swap

This is the card I used for a shoe-box swap this past weekend at Galentine's Weekend!  This card was totally inspired by this card by Chris.

This retreat was set up by Sarah and 12 of us spend 3 1/2 days the Gather House in Waunakee, WI and had a wonderful time. We ate great food, laughed a lot and we all did create some projects.  We also planned a shoe-box swap, so throughout the weekend, we were able to pick up a box and create a cute Stampin' Up card. I did make some wonderful cards.

Praying for You

It is the 10th of the month and that means it is time for my card for the monthly themed swap that Terry is hosting on SCS.  Each month she will post a theme and we make cards using any stamp set we believe follows that thought. This is our 37th month and the theme for February is "Branching Out". We were to use trees, leaves, wood grain, birds, nests, etc., I decided to go with one of my favorite Stampin' Up sets--Thoughts & Prayers for a sympathy or thinking of you card.  I am sure there will be some wonderful cards this month.

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope Terry and the others swappers like my card this month too! Terry has already posted the March theme.  Be sure to come back in to see what we create!

Crafter's of Faith ~ Love and Hearts

Here is my February Crafters of Faith card.  This is a great group that my friend Kelly started on SCS. This is our 26th month, so we are into year #3. Tracie gave everyone this challenge:

Scripture:  1 Corinthians 13:4-7 "Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

ChallengeSince February is Valentine's Day, Please make a card about Love. {... I will dedicate my card to my mom}

This card is also doing double duty as a card for my Gallery Gazers Group as I CASE'd this card on SCS, made by Terri.   I loved the card when I saw it in her gallery and I knew I wanted to make it for this month's Crafter's of Faith challenge for Tracie. I am sure that Tracie will see some wonderful cards this month, dedicated to her mom, who passed away within the past month.  I borrowed the heart stamp set and matching dies from Sarah to make this card and now I am thinking I need to purchase it!

Here is the inside of my card, using another die from the set:

I hope Tracie along the others from the Crafters of Faith group like my card this month!  We are to post between the 7th and 10th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too! I am up for our March challenge, so be sure to check back to see what I create!

A Card a Week-Sketch #1

Today is the 6th week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. January was Fancy Folds and February is using a SCS Sketch.  Every Tuesday, I will post a card that fits the theme of the monthly challenge.

Today I used Sketch 301 from SCS:

I used one of my favorite Valentine stamps from Whipper Snapper Designs--he just makes me smile!

Here is the inside of my card:

One Plus Twelve, Card 2

Welcome to One Plus Twelve, month 2!  This is the brainchild of Kelly and she asked Jeanette and me to join her in this challenge. We are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month--but we may add a sentiment if we want!  One Stamp/Twelve Months-here we go into our second month of one plus 12!  We post on the 3rd of each month, reflecting the three of us and our three challenges we currently do together--3 Musketeers, our first challenge along with Ready, Set Go and now this one!

As a mentioned for my first card in January,  I picked my favorite Stampin Up set--Lovely as a Tree.  For my challenge this month, I made a card using a new die that I bought--Cheery Lynn Designs Window B.  I also used some new washi tape from Altenew, called Galaxy Wide Washi. I thought it would make a great background behind the trees.  I embossed the trees with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and there is much more sparkle and shine on the card than the picture shows.  It is a hard to see, so I did take a second picture with a flash on and it makes it a bit lighter.

Here is the inside of my card and the black "blob" in the corner is another embossed tree:

Please be sure to check out the other One plus Twelve cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will enjoy checking out what stamp set is picked and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card and that you might too! We will be back each month, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd of March!
