Catch-Up Club Gina K

Today is the last day of August and I am posting a set of cards for our challenge-The Catch-up Club!  A few of my stamping friends, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry along with myself, have signed up for a number of virtual stamping events in the past 3+ years.  One of the benefits of these events are that they are available to rewatch or even watch for the first time at a later date as they are all recorded. The 4 of us "try" to watch live and chat by texting during the event.  But, life steps in and there are times when one or more of us are not participating during the live.  Then, the kits from sponsors sits in our stamping area until we are ready to watch the video and create.  During one of the events, we decided we needed to push ourselves (and each other) to get some of these events done!   So--we all decided to devote one day a month, the last day of the month for the somewhat procrastinators that we are, to post cards we missed making.  So--here we are in our 15th month of The Catch Up Club!

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This month the creations are from Scrapbook & Cards Event called Crop & Create Delivered, from September of 2023.  This is card is from Gina K Designs class called Fancy Folds.  I have two more cards from her class to create.  Plus a few more classes to complete.  I had better get moving, since the 2024 event is coming up in September and I vowed to have these done!

The fun fold floral card is so cute and the three pictures below shows what it looks like opened!  I know I will use this fun stencil set and die set often in the future!  Plus, the sentiment set and matching dies is so versatile.

I hope you enjoyed my cards!  Here are the links to the other of the Catch Up Club.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, and Darlene's blogs.  They may post today or tomorrow, but we have all promised to post cards that we have missed the making along the way!  And, there are more pouches of virtual events stacked in my stamp room. And, the next Crop & Create Delivered is at the end of September, so I bet get my butt in gear!  So--I will be sure to have more Catch-up-Club cards to come!!!!

Yellow Flowers

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 92nd month of de-stash, so we are into our 8th year of challenges.  I cannot believe my thought about using what we have is now 8+ years old!   I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Suzy posted our August challenge--Sunflowers for the theme or any yellow flower

I went with an Gina K Designs called Easter Blessings. I always need Easter cards as we send about 30 some with grocery gift cards before Easter to some members of our sister church in Milwaukee.  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and then cut the image with a Sizzix Dotted Squares Die.  I also stamped one of the sentiments and added a flag of Crushed Curry ribbon. I picked a fun background panel by using a Brass & Bliss Quilted Cover Plate. I added some Wink of Stella on the daffodils so they look like dew is all over them.   I now have another Easter card to add to my stash!

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSAUG.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For September, Sue is up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

The Stamp Market

Here we are--this is the Double Duty Day!  This is the 44th month, so we are in our 4th year!  WOW--4 years of making two cards with the same stamp from different companies each month!

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For August, the company we decided on is The Stamp Market.  This is a rather new company and I think I was introduced to them during one of the virtual events held in the last few years.  I picked a set called Easter Joy and it is a stamp set with a matching die. I also used the Bunny Ears die set.

For both cards, I heat embossed the words Easter Joy and then die cut with the coordinating die. I then die cut the Bunny Ears in white and pink.  Both cards have a background panel behind the ears and words!

For this pink card, I embossed the Easter Joy words on Taylored Expressions Pink Champagne cardstock with clear embossing powder.  The background is Brass & Bliss Wood Plank Panel Background Plate.  The bunny ears are in the corner with the words centered.  I then added some Stampin' Up white pearls around words.

For the white card, I used white embossing powder on Blushing Bride cardstock. I added a white panel die cut from a Pinkfresh Studio plate called Simply Diamonds.  I added foam tape behind the panel and placed it on Blushing Bride. The bunny ears are in the middle, right under the words.  I added some Pinkfresh Studio Glacier Jewels on the Blushing Bride, between the diamonds.

I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards. Here is a link to Jeanette'sDarlene’s  and  Carol's blogs.   I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards.

Next month we will highlight a favorite of all of us, Gina K Designs.   So be sure to check out our cards on September 22nd!

Bootie Babies

This is my card for a swap called the SIS--Surprise Image Swap.   This is card #16 for our group.  It is a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The surprise part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--the 18th of every other month.   The sweet image for this round was provided by Carol!  She will swap the cards and include the new image for round #17 that Terry will have stamped in each return envie. Then--we do it all again in October!

Carol sent us this adorable image from House Mouse called Bootie Babies.  She also included a sentiment, but I decided to not use it.   I colored each of the images with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut with a Gina Marie Stitched Oval.  I picked out sweet blue baby patterned paper and used Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 for the panel.  I added a blue brad on the bow and some Balmy Blue Ribbon as a flag.  This was a fun card to make!

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations.  The due date is today, the 18th, or they may post in the upcoming days. You can also check out SCS and use the keyword SIS16 to see some posted there.  I hope everyone in the swap likes my card--and that you do too!

Grillin' and Chillin'

Today is the 15th and this is my card this month for our The Creative Crew!  We are a group of 7--Jeanette, Carol, Darlene, Lorraine, Terry, Tracie and me. Each month will be a new challenge posed by one of the members sending out a kit. This month, Jeanette sent out a sweet kit to celebrate summer and grilling! The image and sentiment is from CC Designs and called BBQ.  She asked us to tell the best thing we like to grill and since I am Wisconsin I picked Brats!

I colored the cute image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I die cut the image and the kraft cardstock backer with a Whimsy Stamps die set called Stitched Squares.  I picked the fun cookout patterned paper Jeanette included for my background.  I added the sentiment and a black ribbon flag in the corner.   This was a very fun card to make!  Thanks for a fun kit Jeanette!

I hope all of The Creative Crew Gals enjoy my card this month.  Please be sure to stop in to see what fun crafty cards are posted this month.  All of the blogs can be found on my left sidebar.  Our teammate Lorraine does not have a blog, so please check out her card in her SCS gallery.   I am sure you will enjoy all of the fun grilling cards and see what my teammates like on the grill!

We will be back in September with another challenge that I will sending out.  Be sure to check in with us on the 15th to see what fun is planned!

Heartfelt Snowflake

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. These two cards are #62, so we are now into year #7. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a very fun group and will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

For this month's messiness, I wanted to make a couple of cards using a newer Gina K Designs stencil set called Heartfelt Snowflake Layering Stencils. There are 3 stencils in the set.  I pulled out some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks and I have not used them in a long time!  I love the way they ink blend and are so bright!  I used Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers on both panels and added Seedless Preserves on the third stencil, which is the horizontal card. I added some Taylored Expressions Iridescent Glitter Glaze to that card, again with the third stencil, over ink. The vertical card with two colors of ink has Brutus Monroe Perfect Plum Glitter Glaze also with the third stencil, over the ink. Both cards have sentiments from Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Packs.  There are some Pinkfresh Studio Jewels on both cards--Lavender on the horizontal card and Glacier on the vertical one.

I really like the look of these two cards and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies like it  too!  Here are the links to the other somewhat messy crafters:   Carol, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry.   I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy this month and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up to in September as we will all be back for another round!

Eclectic Blooms

Today is the 9th and it is now time for another The Three Musketeers post. This round, Kelly is the hostess and sent out this sweet image from Concord & 9th called Eclectic Blooms.   She also included a sentiment from the same set, but I used one of my own.  So for August, this is card #120 and we are at the end of year number 10!  I cannot believe this trio has been going strong for 10 plus years and looking to go to 11!

I colored the Sweet floral image with my Copic Sketch Markers. I die cut the image with a Gina Marie Designs In & Out Double Stitched Oval.  I then die cut a white panel for the background with a Stampin' Up Stitched Greenery Plate and used foam tape behind the oval for some dimension.  The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp sentiment pack. I added somme Studio Katia Lemon Burst Pearls around the image and a bow from Stampin' Up yellow yarn. . I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  I am up for our September challenge and the start to our 11th year!  Please be sure to join us again.

PFS Craft Along

This past Friday, I was able to participate in a Pinkfresh Studio Create & Connect Craft Along with Lea and Heather.  And, I was able to make 2 of the three cards that evening along with the Zoom group and I finished Lea's yesterday. The suite that was used was Chrysanthemum Stamp, Die, 6 piece Stencil set and the coordinating Washi.  They also picked the Nested Diamonds Hot Foil and Die set.   I think this suite is so pretty and I plan to get it out again soon.

These card designs are not my own--they are identical to the ones demonstrated in class Friday evening.  I just followed along!

Lea's card is on the left and we used the Nested Diamonds Hot Foil Plate and Die set.  The floral image was stamped and then the 6 part stencil was used along with 6 Pinkfresh Studio ink cubes.  The entire panel was then die cut and the floral segments was layered within the foiled diamonds.  The background is a Pinkfresh Studio Plate called Stitched Octagons.

Heather's two cards on the right used the Washi Tape along with the matching die.  We used some gold glitter cardstock along with the nested diamonds die set.   The sentiments I used for all three cards are from some Pinkfresh Studio sentiment packs.  I also added gold pearls on both cards.

These were three fun cards to make.  This was such a fun evening and being a part of the Zoom class was sweet.  I am unable to do the September event live, but I know I can in October.

Best Wishes

Today is the day I am posting my card for our One Plus Twelve challenge in 2024.  This is year number 6.   For this challenge, we are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month and post on the 3rd of each month.  For this year, I picked a Pinkfresh Studio set called Thankful for Friends.  The set includes the stamp set, matching die, coordinating stencils and a hot foil plate!   I think this set is so pretty and I will have many options each month.

For my card this month, I first hot foiled the image in rainbow foil. I then used the 4 piece stencil and green and yellow Taylored Expressions inks to ink blend the image.  I then die cut the floral cluster with the matching die.  I picked a Pinkfresh Studio plate called Geo Floral Background for the white panel over a yellow card base. for the background.  I placed the die cut floral image, also with some foam on the back and used a gold foiled sentiment from one of my PFS sentiment packs.   I added some Taylored Expressions Iridescent Drip Drops around the image.

Please be sure to check out the other One plus Twelve cards to see the the cards that Kelly and Jeanette have created for August!  Here is a link to both Jeanette's  and Kelly's blog.  Be sure to come back on September 3rd to see our next set of cards.
