Friday's With The Project Bin

It is Friday, so  that means that I am back with another card for The Project Bin Stamps--A Way With Words!  Every Friday,  I post a card made from one of their great photopolymer stamp sets.  So, please plan to come back each week to see what I have created--I think you too will love these great sentiment stamp sets.  And, remember, some of the sets come with matching steel dies! Merry and Bright

This is my card for October's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month. 

Joyce is the hostess this month and sent everyone some Christmas images for us to pick from. She also sent some great patterned paper along with other cute embellishments. Joyce wanted us to get a head start on our Christmas Cards.  I colored the stocking image with my Copic Markers and added some Spectrum Sparkle-white to the cuff and clear over the body of the stocking.

The Creative Card Chicks are to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars, you may see more of these wonderful creations! Many of our members also post their card in our SCS thread--so you might find more there.  This is the sixth month of the new round.  We take December off so be sure to come back and join us again in January with an image that Roxie will be sending us!

Changing of the Leaves

Today is third Wednesday of the month and this is my Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card! The 3 Musketeers--Kelly, Jeanette and me--are back with another challenge for November-our 30th month!  That means we are well into our third year--YAY!

Kelly provided the challenge for November: Kelly purchased three wooden leaves a few years ago while on vacation in Tennessee in the winter!  She admired the blanket of snow--remember, Kelly lives in Miami, Florida!  She also loved the changing of the leaves and the gorgeous colors of autumn. She sent each of us one of the wooden leaves and challenged us to use it on a card. 

Ready? Set? Go!

I think the wooden leaf is so pretty and I love the veins in all parts of the leaf.  It looks like a maple leaf and they are gorgeous in the fall.  We have two maple trees outside our dining room window and they are stunning to look at in October-November.  However, this year we had 6 inches of snow on Halloween, while most of the leaves were still on the tree. Now, they are on the ground, mixed with snow.  We did not get them picked up this fall so we will have a larger project in the spring.

My card highlights the leaf, along with some fall patterned paper.  I added the word cherish.  I cherish my 3-M friends.  I also cherish the seasons we have in Wisconsin, even if they have been mixed up the past few years.................

Life is Better at the Lake

This is the 47th week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. November's challenge is to make a card using just dies.  Every Tuesday in November, that is my goal.  I have many dies and this will be my chance to use them!

For my third card in November, I used a fun die I got this summer at a stamp class.  It is an Impression Obsession Die called Sailboat.  I cut it out from Night of Navy and layered over Blue Mirri Card Metallic Paper to shine like water.  I also used red vellum that has gold stars that is to look like a stormy night. 

And again, this is a hard card to photograph with the metallic paper.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.

Mystery Image Frosty

Today is the 18th and the due date for a Mystery Swap on SCS. This is my card for that swap.  It is a group of us who do a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess. This swap was created by Forest Ranger—Jeanette--back in 2010 and we are now in our 55th round!  Tracie is our hostess this month and sent everyone this great image from Northwoods Rubber Stamps. She will swap out the cards and send everyone the next image, which Laura Jean picked out! We then get to do it all again, for round #56, in January!   

I really like the image Tracie sent and I had fun coloring it.  I used Wink of Sarah all over the image square.  It is Wink of Stella mixed with rubbing alcohol and put in a mini spray bottle that my demo Sarah gave us last year.  It gives a shimmer to a large area when sprayed.

Holiday Party Invite

Today I am sharing the invitation I made for our Holiday Cocktail party in December.  I love this set by Taylored Expressions called Merry Little Cocktail!  I has a number of sweet cocktail images along with sentiments, including this invitation!  

I colored the beverage in the glass with Wink of Stella for some sparkle-though it is hard to see here.  We usually have a couple of signature cocktails for the event and one of the favorites last year was blue.  However, that color would not have matched the background, so I went with a typical holiday drink color-Red!  I also added some of the new Stampin' Up Red Rhinestones for some bling!

Dueling Darlings Duel Owls!

It is the 15^th of the month and that means I am showing you a new Dueling Darlings card.  For our November Challenge, Heather and Beth are the hostesses. They decided on the theme-Owls!   Beth is one of the Dazzlers and Heather is a Diva, like me. And we are all Dueling Darlings!  And, we have been doing this since August of 2010--so we are into our 9th year!

Heather sent out this cute image from Taylored Expressions called Hoot Hoot Horray!  She also sent some sweet patterned paper along with a variety of fun embellishments. This was fun card to make and I hope the other Divas thought so too!
