Patriotic Chicken

Four in a Row!  Yes, I am posting another card made from the card kit group that I am in on SCS.  I was the recipient of 8 wonderful kits in June and we are to post our cards within two months after our month--so by the end of August, you should see my cards!!!!   In this group, we can "request our wishes" and the sends may be able to grant some of them.  I had asked for any patriotic images and papers, so you will see quite a few red, white and blue cards in the next week or so.

This is card number 4 from a great kit sent by Jeanette. Jeanette's kit had two Whipper Snapper images--stamped on both white and ivory so I could chose which to use with the great patterned papers she sent.  She also included an assortment of awesome embellishments.  This was a fun kit to play with!  I hope I did OK and that Jeanette likes my card.  Thanks for a wonderful kit Jeanette!

I love the vintage patterned paper and wanted to be sure that was one of the focal points of the card.  I used both the red and navy Baker's Twine by rolling them together under the image.

Here is the inside of my card:

Day Number Three!

This is card number 3 from a great kit sent by Pansy. Pansy's kit was packed full!  She sent numerous images, a bunch of great patterned paper, various embossed card fronts, awesome embellishments and other fun items I sure will use on more cards.  I bet I can make another 10 cards, just from the supplies in this kit from Pansy!. I picked the cute Craft Lounge image, which I have never seen before.  This was a fun kit to play with!  I hope I did OK and that Pansy likes my card.  Thanks for a wonderful kit Pansy!

A Special Treat for You

Two days in a row!

This is card number 2 from a great kit sent by Tracie. Tracie sent a fantastic kit with two different images, a bunch of great patterned papers and some awesome embellishments for me to use. I picked the cute Whipper Snapper image.  This was a fun kit to play with!  I hope I did OK and that Tracie likes my card.  Thanks for a great kit Tracie!

Tracie even included a pair of red, white and blue socks in my package!  She said she wanted me to have something fun to wear at my 4th of July party for family and friends.  I did not wear them as it was quite hot that day--but I for sure will wear them this fall as I love colorful socks!  Thanks Tracie!

Shake it Up!

It is about time.....................   Yes, I have said this over and over the past few weeks as I am FINALLY getting the cards made from the card kit group that I am in on SCS.  You see, I was the recipient of all of the kits in June and it is mid-August before I am posting any of the cards.  Geeze--who IS in charge of this group.........................  That would be me!  We have an expectation in the group to post the completed cards in the thread and then on their blog or their SCs gallery within two months after the hostess month.  So, I really do have a few more days before I have broken the rules!

This is card number 1 from a great kit sent by Kelly.   Kelly sent a fantastic kit with two different images, a bunch of great patterned papers and some awesome embellishments for me to use.  She said she based the kit on our trip to Hawaii in 2014.  This was a fun kit to play with!  I hope I did OK and that Kelly likes my card.  Thanks for a great kit Kelly--Thanks Bunches!!!!

I loved the bright colors of the papers and the flowers and the ribbons.  I decided to use three of the ribbons for the bow as it reminds me of the tropical colors.  I layered two of each of the sizes of the green flower to give it more dimension.  We did visit the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii--but it was a rainy day, so it was not as enjoyable as it could have been.  We did see many dancers!

Going to Rio

If you are looking for my Melonheadz Challenge card, please scroll up.

It is the 15th of the month and that means we get to show off a new Dueling Darlings challenge. For the August Challenge, Judy and Debbie, decided on the theme.  Debbie is one of the Darlings and Judy is a Diva, my team!

This theme this month is : Going to Rio with the Olympic Darlings!  The 2016 Summer Olympics is currently going on, until August 21st.  There will be a record number of countries participating in 306 events in 28 sports.  (there also is a refuge team of 20 athletes, participating under the Olympic flag.)  The motto for the Rio Olympics is "A New World".

Judy sent a variety of great embellishments to go with this cute image.  Judy contacted the owner of Scrappin' Doodles to use her digital image for our duel and I am so glad she did!  I then "had" to go to the site and purchased some additional digis.  Thanks for enabling me Judy!  I used one of my newest purchases, a set of cross-stitched oval dies from Gina Marie for the image and background.  Judy sent a sheet of gold, silver and bronze paper--so I used all three of them!  I used three of the ribbons she sent--that is the red, yellow and green banners on the bottom right of the ovals.

Judy and Debbie also asked us to share our favorite summer Olympic event.
I would say whatever is on TV at the time I am watching.  Bring retired, I am able to watch all day long, every day possible.  I LOVE the Olympics!  Being a retired Physical Education teacher and coach, I enjoy watching pretty much any sport.  I do not understand all of them, especially rugby, one of the new ones in 2016.  I do like the major ones--swimming, gymnastics and volleyball, as I coached high school girls volleyball for 19 years!

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope Judy and the other Darlings enjoy my card.

But I am Cute!

This is the card for the 27th round of the Unidentified Image swap on SCS.  It is a group of ladies who are a part of a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The unidentified part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--that is today!   The image for this round were provided by Lela.  She will swap the cards and include the next image that Heather, our next hostess, provides in our return envie.  And then we get to do it all again--for round #28!!!

The image that Terry sent is from one of my favorite companies--Penny Black, but I have seen it.  I think it sure is cute.  I also used one of my newest purchase--a set of stitched rectangle dies by Gina Marie Designs.  I bought a couple of different sets and I just love them!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations today or in the next few days.  I hope Lela and the others in this swap like my card!

Gettin' Old Ain't for Sissies

It is time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the image Kelly provided this month for Card #23!  We have been doing this for close to three years now and it has been a blast! Jeanette is up next for the September challenge and I know it will be a fun image!   Be sure to come back to see what we create!

For our card this month, Kelly sent out this image from a company called Diamonds, which is no longer in business.  She said she had it for more than 8 years and inked it up for the first time.  She bought it at a stamping rummage sale for 50 cents!  I think the image is such a hoot!

Here is the inside of my card:

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  They may post today, or it may be upcoming, so be sure to check out their blog for their card!
